Privacy Policy
Wishkin ("we," "us") makes a family gift list app for iPhone and Android and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@wishkin.app.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored encrypted), or the name and email shared by Sign in with Apple or Google.
- Family information: your family name, the relationship you choose (for example "Grandma"), and which family you belong to.
- Children's information entered by a parent: first name, birthday, optional photo, clothing and shoe sizes, and interests. Children do not create accounts or use Wishkin themselves.
- Wishlists and gifts: items, links, photos, prices, occasions, and whether a gift-giver has claimed or bought an item.
- Subscription status: whether your family plan is active and when it renews. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details.
- Device information: a notification token so we can send the reminders you turn on, plus basic diagnostic and crash data to fix problems.
- Website: if you join our launch list, your email address.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your family's lists, hide bought gifts from other gift-givers, and keep surprises hidden from parents.
- To send notifications you allow, such as new lists, upcoming occasions and gift reminders.
- To manage your subscription and provide support.
- To keep Wishkin secure and working well.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use children's information for advertising.
Who can see your information
- Your family circle: people you invite with your family code can see your children's names, photos, sizes and wishlists. Share codes only with people you trust.
- Service providers who run parts of Wishkin for us, under contracts that limit their use of your data: our app hosting and database provider, OneSignal (push notifications), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Apple and Google (app stores and payments).
- Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Store links
When you tap a store link, you leave Wishkin and that store's own privacy policy applies. Some links may earn Wishkin a small commission at no cost to you; if we add these, we will say so in the app.
Children
Wishkin is for adults. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. Information about children is entered and controlled by their parent, who can edit or delete it at any time. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account, or email us. When a parent deletes their account, the lists and children's information they created are deleted. Backups are cleared within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, children's details and lists at any time in the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in the app or your phone's settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@wishkin.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
Security
We use encryption in transit and access controls so only members of your family can see your family's lists. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password.
Changes
If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
